We are not ashamed to claim that the Viking Town, located by the beach of Höllviken, is unique. Unlike many other reconstructed facilities showing the life during late the Viking Age and early Middle Ages, that generally are constructed as farms, the Viking Town offer the opportunity to visit a town in the process of being founded. This creates unique opportunities to experience how a more densely populated community worked. Law, crime, punishment, crafts, defense, coin minting and trade - things that may not normally be shown in a natural way in a farm environment.
Aside from Foteviken Museum the concept Kulturcenter includes Höllvikens community centre, Foteviken holiday village, the restaurant Den Fede Gåsen and the Handicraft Institute of Scania. Click here for more information.
